(614.1) THESSALY, Pharkadon. Circa 460 BC. AR Obol (11mm, 0.83 g, 2h). Head and neck of bull r., the animal turning to face the viewer; above, ΑΛΓ retrograde; all in dotted border / to l., Θ below, A above upside down, head and neck of bridled horse to l., all in incuse square. Liampi, Corpus, p. 108, 1 (V1/R1), pl. 5, 12-15 (these dies). Near VF, lightly toned; obv. off centre, flan striking split at 12 o’clock; rev. flat struck at 6 o’clock (die flaw).


(614.2) THESSALY, Pharkadon. Circa 460 BC. AR Obol (10.5mm, 0.91 g, 9h). Head and neck of bull r., the animal turning to face the viewer; circle of dots / Θ-A-R from above, r. and down, the R sideways, head and neck of bridled horse r., below, trident to r., all in incuse square. Liampi, Corpus, p. 109, 4c (V3/R4), pl. 5, 18 (this coin). Near VF, lightly toned, minor peripheral porosity.
