THESSALY, Pharsalos. Early 4th century BC. Æ Dichalkon (16mm, 2.14 g, 10h). Head of Athena r., wearing plain necklace, triple drop earring and a crested Attic helmet with ear flaps raised, decorated by Skylla to r. / Φ-A below, P sideways and outwards in field r., Σ retrograde in field l, helmeted and armoured Thessalian rider on horse galloping r., flailing his lagobolon above his head, on which bird perches r. Rogers 472, fig. 259 (this coin); Lavva - (sic!). VF, golden tan and darker green natural combination patina; a delightful coin, very rare in this condition.
