THESSALY, Pharsalos. 4th-3rd centuries BC. Æ Trichalkon (19mm, 6.16 g, 12h). Helmeted head of Athena facing, turned slightly to l., her shield over her l. shoulder; border of dots / ΦA above l., P to r., ΣA below, helmeted rider on prancing horse r., wielding his bifurcate flail above his head. Lavva 336 (V172/R240); see also Helios 2 (25 November 2008) 119 (same dies). Near VF, nice green patina; small metal flaw above horse’s head on rev. and struck on a small flan for the size of the dies.
