THESSALY, Pharsalos. Mid to late 5th century BC. AR Hemidrachm (13mm, 2.97 g, 2h). Head of Athena r., wearing crested Attic helmet / Φ-A-P-Σ-A from below r., down l. and up r. circular, the Σ retrograde, horse’s head and neck r., all in a shallow incuse square with rounded sides. Lavva 21 (V14/R14). VF, very lightly toned; obv. die flaw on cheek in the form of a pellet.
