THESSALY, Pherai. Early 4th century BC. Æ Dichalkon (16.5mm, 3.84 g, 1h). Head of Ennodia r., her hair gathered in a roll around her head with some escaping behind and in front / Φ-EPAION from r., down and l. circular, lion’s head spout r., water pouring from its mouth. Rogers 512, fig. 278 (different dies). Near VF, attractive reddish brown patina; the reverse with a couple of hairline die flaws.

Ennodia was one of the epithets of Artemis; she had many, as she was venerated in practically the entire ancient world.
