THESSALY, Skotussa. Early to mid 4th century BC. Æ Dichalkon (15mm, 3.23 g, 4h). Head of young, beardless Herakles r., wearing his lion’s skin headdress / Σ-K-O from above, r. down and circular, bunch of grapes with two vine leaves, one on each side, hanging from vine branch. Rogers 540, fig. 298 (same dies); Hirsch 1164 (same obv. die). Near VF, dark brown patina; scattered pitting on both surfaces but a rare and charming portrait of young Heracles.
