THESSALY, Trikka. Late 4th to early 3rd centuries BC. Æ Trichalkon (24.5mm, 9.12 g, 12h). Head of nymph Trikke r. wearing pendant earring; border of dots / TPIKKAI l. up, ΩN r. down, bearded and draped Asklepios, his chlamys over his l. shoulder but his torso bare, seated r. on stool, his staff leaning on his l. shoulder, holding dove by its wings in his r. hand and feeding with it a snake coiled l. facing him; A under stool. SNG Alpha Bank 282 (same dies); Weber 2938; see also J. Hirsch XIII (15 May 1905) 1481 (same dies). Near VF, dark green patina; obverse struck a little softly and marginally off centre; linear die break on reverse at 4 o’clock.
