THESSALY, Thessalian League. Late 2nd – mid 1st century BC. AR Stater (21mm, 6.30 g, 12h). Pausanias and At(re?)... magistrates. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath / ΘEΣΣA/ΛΩN, Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; ΠAY-ΣANIA[Σ] above spear, NI in inner left field, AT monogram in inner right field. Not found in the consulted references. VF, attractively toned; scarce variety.
