THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid – late 1st century BC. AR Stater (22mm, 6.12 g, 12h). Damothoin(os) and Philox(enides), magistrates. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath / ΘEΣΣA/ΛΩN, Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; ΔAM-OΘOI/N above spear with last letter below, ΦI-ΛO-ΞΛ (
sic) across lower central field. McClean 4726 var. (legends). VF, worn obv. die.
