Laureate head of Apollo right; monogram to left / [Θ]EΣΣA/ΛΩ[N], Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; Φ-I/Λ-O across central field. McClean 4964, pl. 180, 12 var. (monogram). Good Fine, toned, a few surface marks; scarce variety.

On this example, there are traces of the previous magistrate letters Π-I across the central field on the reverse, which must have been erased from the die. The same effect is noted on some hemidrachms from the same issue (see lot 896.1 below).
