Laureate head of Apollo right; monogram to left / [Θ]EΣΣA/ΛΩ[N], Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; Φ-I/Λ-O across central field. McClean 4964, pl. 180, 12 var. (monogram). Good Fine, toned, a few surface marks; scarce variety.

I, 3; SNG Christomanos 453. VF, toned, flan is a little compact; attractive obverse style.

BMC 42; McClean 4468; Dorotheum 244 (24 October 1961), no. 462 (same dies). Near VF, toned; obv. die somewhat worn.

On this example, there are traces of the previous magistrate letters Π-I across the central field on the reverse, which must have been erased from the die. The same effect is noted on some hemidrachms from the same issue (see lot 896.1 below).
