THESSALY, Thessalian League. Second half 2nd century BC. AR Drachm (18mm, 4.24 g, 12h). Laureate head of Apollo right; monogram to left / ΘEΣΣA/ΛΩN, Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; owl standing right on spear. SNG Ashmolean 3820; SNG Delepierre 1158; Hunterian 11. See E. Bourgey, 14 December 1911, 100 (incorrectly listed as 106 on pl. III; same obv. die). Near VF, evenly toned, a few surfaces marks from an old cleaning.
BCD Thessaly 1375 is the hemidrachm from this same issue.

Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet with plain bowl; AΓA above / ΘEΣ/ΣA-ΛΩ-N, bridled horse trotting right. BMC 47; SNG Copenhagen 309; see also Nomos 4, 1387. Good VF, evenly toned.
