(898.1) THESSALY, Thessalian League. Second half 2nd century BC. Æ Trichalkon (19mm, 9.29 g, 12h). Laureate head of Apollo right / [Θ]EΣΣA/ΛΩ[N], Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; monogram in inner right field. Rogers 11. Near Fine, black patina, brown highlights, traces of red and green.

Laureate head of Apollo right / [Θ]EΣΣA/ΛΩ[N], Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear held in her right hand, shield on her left arm; monogram and E in inner right field. Rogers 12. Good Fine, green patina with earthen deposits.

Near Fine, obv. is slick, green and red patina.

The obverse of this coin has been completely worn down (filed?). Perhaps the coin served as a token or game piece in Roman times?

Near Fine, rough with traces of green patina, bronze showing on high points; rare.
