(903.1) THESSALY, Thessalian League. Late 2nd – mid 1st century BC. Æ Dichalkon (18mm, 5.14 g, 12h). Ippai(tas), magistrate. Helmeted head of Athena right; IΠΠAI below / ΘEΣ/ΣAΛΩ-N, horse trotting right. Rogers 44 var. (orientation of obverse legend). Near VF, brown-green patina, minor roughness. This particular way of placing the magistrate’s name unpublished and extremely rare.

Helmeted head of Athena right; NYΣ-ΣANΔPOY above and below / ΘEΣ/ΣAΛΩ-N, horse trotting right; grain ear to right. Rogers 46 var. (orientation of obv. legend). VF, dusty green patina.
