(948.1) THESSALY, Koinon of Thessaly. temp. Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ Assarion (13mm, 2.64 g, 7h). ΘEΣΣ[A]-ΛOI, Apollo seated left, raising right arm over his head / ΛAPIΣA, the nymph Larissa standing left, holding ball in her right hand. Burrer Em. 1 (of Domitian), Series 2, – (unlisted dies); RPC 280. Near VF, green patina, a few rough spots. Extremely rare, one of two known with obverse legend ending -OI (see following lot for the other).

ΘEΣΣA-ΛOI, Apollo seated left, raising right arm over his head / ΛAPIΣA, the nymph Larissa standing left, holding ball in her right hand. Burrer Em. 1 (of Domitian), Series 2, 30 (A8/R24 – this coin); RPC 280. Near VF, dark green patina. Extremely rare, one of two known with obverse legend ending -OI (see previous lot for the other).

Near VF, attractive dark green patina.
