(950.1)
THESSALY, Koinon of Thessaly. temp. Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ Dissarion(?) (16mm, 5.00 g, 12h). ΘECCA-ΛѠN, Apollo seated left, raising right arm over his head / ΛAP[IC]A, the nymph Larissa standing left, holding ball in her right hand. Cf. Burrer Em. 2 (of Domitian), Series 2 (assaria); cf. RPC 290 (assaria). Good Fine, green surfaces, minor roughness.
While it is tempting to call this piece just a “heavy” assarion, the large diameter of the dies suggests that this might have been part of a very limited attempt to make a diassarion in the pseudo-autonomous coinage. The difference between this coin and the assaria is also the fact that the legend on the obverse does not contain squared-off Cs.
(950.2)

Burrer Em. 2 (of Domitian), Series 2, 91 (A27/R65); RPC 290. Near VF, pale green patina, a few rough spots.
(950.3)

Burrer Em. 2 (of Domitian), Series 2, – (A28/R68 [unlisted die combination]); RPC 290. Near VF, dark green surfaces.
(950.4)
