CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 315-302 BC. AR Nomos (21mm, 7.76 g, 7h). Warrior, preparing to cast spear held in right hand, holding two spears and shield in left, on horse rearing right; ΣA below / Phalanthos, holding kantharos in extended right hand, cradling trident in left arm, astride dolphin left; AP to left, TAPAΣ to right; below, small dolphin left. Fischer-Bossert 847k (V336/R658) = Vlasto 600 (this coin); HN Italy 937; SNG ANS 996 (same dies); Kraay & Hirmer 314. Near EF, attractive cabinet toning, minor roughness in areas. Fine style.
