AITOLIAN LEAGUE. Circa 279-168 BC. AV Stater (8.47 gm). Helmeted head of Athena right; serpent on helmet / Aitolia as Amazon seated right, holding Nike and sceptre; Aetolos with spear before, monogram in exergue. Cf. Reinach, JIAN XIII, 33 (same obverse die, different reverse monogram). Near VF, light surface marks. Very rare. ($5000)
