ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ (26mm, 8.77 g, 2h). Barbarous imitation of Class 2 “CA coinage”. Bare head right / AVGVSTVS within wreath. Cf. RIC I 486; cf. RPC I 2235. VF, dark green patina.
The Balkan origin of many imitations of this type suggest an imitation of uncertain mint in Asia Minor (Ephesus?) rather than their Syrian counterparts.
