IONIA, MiletosBefore 575 BC. EL Hekte (2.32 gm). Forepart of a roaring lion left / Two square incuse punches, the one on the left composed of radiating lines, the one on the right an eagle. Cf. Weidauer 128 (same left side incuse punch). Near EF. ($1000)
It is possible that the obverse of this coin was intended to be a full lion as opposed to a forepart of a lion, the coin having been struck off center towards the right.
