ALCHON HUNS. "Toramana".Circa 490-515 AD. Æ Drachm (3.47 gm). Hadda-Gandhara. Squat crowned and cuirassed bust right; trident before, horse tail or yak fan before / No type. Cf. Göbl Hunnen Em. 146, 80-82; Supplementa Orientalia -; Alram -; MACW -. Apparently unpublished. Good VF, grey-green patina, with light earthen encrustation. Great portrait! ($200)

This coin is most likely of Toramana, the successor of Khingila (Circa 440-490 AD). Göbl associates the three emissions referenced above with Toramana, and most explicitly Em. 146; the type bearing the greatest technical similarity. As the legends in the time of Toramana begin degrading (as well as metallic content), classification is based heavily upon bust type. Here is an increasing tendency towards a squat Indian portrait, but the features are still bold and distinctly personal.
