NEZAK HUNS, in Chorasan(?). Yabgu of Baxl. Circa 6th-7th Century AD. AR Drachm (3.34 gm). Sasanian style bearded bust right with bull's head crown / Fire altar with attendants. Göbl Hunnen Em. 265.2; Alram 1481; MACW 1558. Toned VF, bold detail, heavy horn-silver encrustation. Rare // Lot also includes: Hephthalite Huns, in Khorasan. Imitating Peroz. After 484 AD. AR Drachm (3.32 gm). Crowned bust of Peroz right; countermark (uncertain Baktrian abbreviation) / Fire altar with two attendants. Göbl Hunnen Em. 283b-c, c/m KM 79. VF, holed. Two (2) coins in lot. ($150)
The Nezak piece is the more barbarous style of the emission, closely resembling Em. 265.2. The first type (Em. 265.1) is stylisticly much clearer and somewhat less barbarous- probably an intermediate type between this coin and Emission 266.
