BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kings. Telephos. Circa 75-70 BC. AR Drachm (1.70 gm). Anguipede (monster with human body and serpent limbs), the limbs terminating in lotus blossoms / Karosthi legend, radiate Helios with sceptre left, Selene with crescent diadem right; monogram to right. Bopearachchi Série 1, 1 (six specimens cited); SNG ANS -; MIG 451a. Near Fine, hoard patina with surface encrustation. Extremely rare. ($300)

A very rare ruler and an extremely elusive portrayal of the Anguipede, which almost never appears as the central or main type on a coin.
