THESSALY, Magnetes. Augustus(?). 27 BC-AD 14. Æ Assarion (16mm, 2.77 g, 6h). CЄBAC-TOC, bare head right / [M]-AΓ-NH-T-Ω[N], the centaur Chiron advancing right, extending right hand and holding palm branch over shoulder in left; dolphin below. RPC I 1421/1 (Augustus or Claudius?) = Rogers 359, fig. 182 (same dies); BCD Thessaly II, 428.2 (Claudius?). Good VF, brown patina. Edge filed from roughly 2 to 10 o’clock and reverse slightly off center, otherwise exceptional condition for this very rare issue. Possibly the finest known.
