SICILY, Katane. Circa 450-445 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 17.27 g 11). Charioteer driving quadriga moving slowly to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in both. Rev. ΚΑΤΑ[ΝΑΙΟ]Ν Laureate head of Apollo to right. Gulbenkian 177, Kraay / Hirmer 35, Rizzo pl. X, 3 and SNG ANS 1245 (all from the same dies). Of very fine style and nicely toned. Very fine.
