Hadrianopolis. Lucius Verus. 161-169. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 32mm, 21.49 g 1), under the governor Gargilius Antiquus. ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟC ΟΥΗΡΟC Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus to right. Rev. ΗΓΕΜ ΓΑΡ ΑΝΤΙΚΟΥ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΠΟΛΙ Asklepios standing facing, his head turned to left, holding his serpent entwined staff in his right hand. Apparently unpublished. A lovely coin with a fine dark green patina. Nearly extremely fine.
