ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩC ΙCΑΥΡΩΝ Severus, crowned by two Victories, on galloping horse to right, hurling spear with his right hand; below, two fallen Parthian enemies. SNG Levante Supplement I, 29 (same dies). SNG von Aulock 5409 (same dies). Rare. Of splendid style, with dies cut by a master engraver. Dark brownish green patina. Some very light traces of corrosion, otherwise, about extremely fine.
