Rev. Υ Ι ΦΑΥCΤΙΝΙΑΝΟΥ ΜΑΡΚΙΑΝΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ Agonistic table with legs ending in lion’s claws; on top, eagle, with head to left, standing facing on a Corinthian capital atop a small column; below, burning round altar. AMNG 620 ff., var. Rare. An attractive piece with an interesting reverse and a brown patina. About extremely fine.
From the M Collection, ex private purchase c. 2006.
The portrait on the obverse is really quite similar to Imperial issues made from c. 208/9 through 211, and must be dated within that period.
