Istros, Lower Moesia. Tranquillina, wife of Gordian III. 241-244. Triassarion (Bronze, 22mm, 8.93 g 1). CΑΒΙΝΙΑ.ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΙΝΑ Draped bust of Tranquillina to right, wearing stephane and with her hair bound up at the back. Rev. ΙCΤΡΙΗΝΩΝ Sea eagle, with spread wings, riding on dolphin swimming to left. AMNG 529. Varbanov 692. A clear and attractive example, with a very sharp reverse and a fine green patina. Extremely fine.
