THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 365-356 BC. AR Drachm (20mm, 6.08 g, 1h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, hair in ampyx / Horse standing left, preparing to lie down. Lorber, Hoard, Phase L-I, –; BCD Thessaly II 287 (same obv. die). Good VF, lightly toned; metal flaw, graffiti, and die shift on reverse.

According to Cathy Lorber, who is preparing a die study of the late facing head drachms, this coin is from the earliest dies in the L-I phase (the first phase in the series), before the plant was added below the horse on the reverse dies.
