JUDAEA, Ascalon. Caracalla. 198-217 AD. AR Tetradrachm (15.42 gm). Laureate head right / Eagle standing right on a palm branch to right, head turned left; dove with an olive branch in its beak below. Prieur 1654 var. (palm branch to the left); Bellinger 376 var. (same). Near EF, very light porosity. Very Rare mint, only ten specimens of three varieties listed by Prieur. Unrecorded variant with the palm right! ($1000)
