ARABIA, Philippopolis. Divus Julius Marinus. Died circa AD 246/7. Æ (22mm, 7.63 g, 12h). Antioch(?) mint. Struck circa AD 247-249. Bareheaded bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder, set on eagle standing right / Roma standing left, holding phiale and spear, shield at side; S C across field. Butcher, Philippopolis & Samosata pl. 25, 11; Meshorer, City Coins, 195; Spijkerman 2, but see Spijkerman 4 (same rev. die as illustrated coin); SNG ANS 1402 (same dies). Near VF, dark green desert patina.
