Antoninus Pius. AD 138-161. AV Aureus (18mm, 7.13 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 140. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, bareheaded and draped bust right / TR • POT COS • III, Aeneas advancing right, carrying Anchises on his shoulder and leading Ascanius by the hand. RIC III 91 corr. (obv. legend); Calicó 1649 (same dies as illustration); BMCRE 237 (same rev. die). VF, lightly toned, short, light scratch in right field on reverse. Extremely rare reverse type for Pius, only one example in CoinArchives and none in the Biaggi collection.
