Umayyad Caliphate. Anonymous. Æ Pashiz (18mm, 1.31 g, 5h). Kāzerūn mint. No date. Crowned Sasanian-style bust right; “xvarrah” in Pahlavi behind, “May xvarrah increase” in Pahlavi before, series of triple pellets around; double circle border with pellet-in-annulet at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock / Horseman to right, holding uncertain object; “Kāzerūn” in Pahlavi to right, pellets around; double circle border. Gyselen 35a.4 (this coin). Good VF, warm brown patina. Very rare and attractive.

This issue probably dates to sometime shortly after equine or other quadriped-themed types were struck at Bīshāpūr, capital of the district (for example, lots 461-464 above).
