MEROVINGIANS. Childebert I. 511-558. Æ Nummus (11mm, 0/53 g, 12h). Marseille(?) mint. [EL]/DEBER/TIR in three lines / Christogram. Brenot, “Monnaies en cuivre du VIe siècle frappées à Marseille,” Melanges Lafaurie p. 224, III; Belfort 5454; Prou 36; MEC 1, 391. Fine, slightly worn brown patina, a bit off center. Extremely rare.


Only five known at the time of Brenot’s publication (1980), of which two were found at Marseille.
