KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AV Stater (17mm, 8.50 g, 11h). Tarsos mint. Struck under Balakros or Menes, circa 332/1-327 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin, and necklace / Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; thunderbolt below right wing. Price -; Hersch -; Arena -. Near EF, reverse a bit off center and with a scuff near edge around 3 o’clock.
