PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Arsinoe II Philadelphos. Died 270/268 BC. AV Mnaïeion – “Oktadrachm” (26mm, 27.77 g, 12h). Tyre mint. Struck under Ptolemy II, dated RY 34 (252/1 BC). Veiled head right, wearing stephane; lotus-tipped scepter in background / APΣINOHΣ ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY, double cornucopia bound with fillet; ΛΔ (date) to lower left, mint monogram and Θ below. Troxell, Arsinoe, 15-6, pl. 9, F (same dies); Svoronos 680; SNG Copenhagen –; Noeske –; Boston MFA –; DCA 9. Good VF, scattered light marks. Extremely rare, the third known for this date.
