Veiled head of Demeter right, wearing wreath of grain ears; grain ear before / KAΛ/ΛATI/ANΩN in three lines within oak wreath. AMNG I/1, -; SNG BM Black Sea -; SNG Stancomb 864 var.; Sutzu 73 var. Near EF, attractive glossy green patina. Rare.
The examples from the Stancomb and Sutzu collections are notably broader and heavier and frame the ethnic within what is clearly a laurel rather than oak wreath.
