EASTERN EUROPE, Imitations of Alexander III of Macedon. Circa mid-late 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.87 g, 8h). Mint in the western Black Sea region. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; K in left field, belt(?) below throne. Lanz -; CCCBM I -; KMW -; OTA -. VF, lightly toned.


This Celtic imitation closely follows the style of the early issues of mints in the western Black Sea region and is likely imitating the issues variously attributed to Kallatis or Kachedon (see Price 917ff).
