New Kingdom. 1550-1075 BC. Green glazed steatite scarab (18x13mm). Base engraved with the name of Amenophis (Amenhotep) II within a cartouche; on left, signs for ‘the image of Ra’; on right, a falcon on the right in a pose of protection with widespread wings. Chipped at base, pierced for mounting.
