THESSALY, Pharsalos. Late 5th-mid 4th century BC. AR Drachm (21mm, 6.06 g, 6h). Obverse die signed by the engraver Telephantos. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet with raised cheek piece; tiny T[H] behind neck / Φ-A across upper field, P-Σ (retrograde) across lower, Thessalian cavalryman on horseback right, wearing petasos, chlamys, and chiton, holding lagobolon over shoulder. Lavva 82 (V42/R47); BCD Thessaly II 638 (same dies). VF, minor porosity, scrape on bowl of helmet. Fine style.
