ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. Circa 688-700/10. Æ Fals (18mm, 2.78 g, 6h). Tabariyya (Tiberias) mint. Three imperial figures standing facing / Large M; monogram above, [T]HB to left, tabariyya to right, A below; in exergue, qatari or qutri(?). SICA I 592; SNAT IVa 286-7; Album 3512A; DOCAB 288. VF, earthen green patina. Rare with this exergual legend.

The exergual legend has been variously read as either the name of the Kharijite rebel Qatari or, perhaps more likely, as qutri (“regional”), and thus referring to the intended area of circulation.
