Head of youthful Mars right, wearing slight beard and crested Corinthian helmet / Circular shield, the central boss ornamented with a star, lying on top of a sword and spear in saltire. RIC I 274; CRI 428; RSC 44. Good VF, lightly toned, minor obverse die flaw.

Probably struck to commemorate Octavian’s victory of the “Liberatores” at Philippi.
