PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Arsinoe II Philadelphos. Died 270/268 BC. AV Mnaïeion – “Oktadrachm” (27mm, 27.85 g, 12h). Alexandreia mint. Struck under Ptolemy V, circa 204-180 BC. Head right, veiled and wearing stephane; lotus-tipped scepter in background, Λ to left / APΣINOHΣ ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY, double cornucopia, grape bunches hanging at sides, bound with fillet. Svoronos 1165 (Ptolemy IV); SNG Copenhagen –; Noeske –; Boston MFA 2285 (Ptolemy IV); BMC 35; Hunterian 24. Good VF. Very rare late Arsinoe mnaïeion with Λ control mark.
