CILICIA, Uncertain. 4th century BC. AR Obol (10mm, 0.73 g, 12h). Baaltars seated right, holding eagle and scepter / Helmeted head of Athena right. Göktürk –; SNG France –; SNG Levante 244 corr. (obv. type). Good VF, toned, some porosity. Rare.
From the Collection of Kelly Krizan, MD.
The style of the reverse of this piece is remarkably similar to SNG Levante 123, struck at Tarsos. It is possible that this issue belongs to that city, where seated Baaltars types are also common.
