Theodosius II. AD 402-450. AV Solidus (12mm, 4.45 g, 12h). Thessalonica mint. Struck AD 408-425. Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder in right hand and shield decorated with Victory on left arm / Constantinopolis seated facing, head right, right foot on prow, holding scepter in right hand and Victory on globe in left; star to left; COMOB. RIC X 349; Depeyrot 47/2; DOCLR -. Near EF, a few shallow scratches. Very rare with facing Victory on shield.
