Local rulers issuing coinage in Syria and the Jazira, the brothers Sayf and Nasir al-Dawla, founders of the Hamandid Dynasty, had respective capitals at Aleppo and Mosul. Their coinage of 330-331h struck at several mints was not issued as independent rulers, but as chief amirs to the Caliph. True Hamandid coinage begins the following year.
