Shagalov & Kuznetsov (p. 184), getting a bit carried away, note that the distinguishing feature of this particular sub-variety is the “...eyes of the ruler, i.e., his squint or another eyesight problem, which we could observe on each coin. Probably this is really a defect of eyesight of a certain ruler.”
