KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 4.23 g, 1h). Abydos mint. Struck under Kalas or Demarchos, circa 325-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, forepart of Pegasos left; ZΩ monogram below throne. Price 1505; ADM II series II, 42 (same obv. die). Near EF, toned, minor die wear on obverse, very slight die shift on reverse. Well centered on a broad flan, struck with dies of high relief.
