LYDIA, Magnesia ad Sipylum. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (38mm, 27.04 g, 6h). Aurelius Theodotos B, strategus. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; c/m: head of Tyche right; cornucopia to right; all within circular incuse / Cybele, holding reins and resting arm on tympanum, seated left on cart driven by pair of lions. For coin: RPC 286.1 (dies A1/R1 – this coin, illustrated); for c/m: Howgego 198. Good VF, dark green patina with areas of red, tiny flan split, minor smoothing in fields. Very rare and the only one not in a public collection.
