SYRIA, Cyrrhestica. Hierapolis. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Æ (27mm, 15.39 g, 12h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Signum set within aediculum; on either side, to left, Hadad enthroned facing, to right, Atargatis enthroned facing; in exergue, lion standing right. Butcher 61a (same rev. die); SNG München –; BMC –; cf. Lindgren & Kovacs A1924A b (for rev. type; Julia Mamaea). VF, dark green patina with orangish earthen deposits. The second one known and the only one not in a public collection.
